Built on Proven Know-How

From material selection to structural design, surface treatment, testing, assembly, and packaging, our awnings are built with years of manufacturing experience and outdoor application knowledge.

With years of experience in awning manufacturing, we understand that a reliable awning is not only about appearance. It depends on the right materials, stable structure, precise assembly, and details that can withstand real outdoor use.

Our know-how comes from long-term production practice, export experience, customer feedback, and continuous product improvement.

RV Awning aluminum profiles need a balance of strength, weight, extrusion precision, surface finish, corrosion resistance, and cost efficiency. 6063-T5 is not the strongest aluminum alloy, but it is one of the most suitable choices for awning cassette housings, front bars, arms, and structural profiles.

  • 6063 aluminum is widely used for precision extrusion profiles because it offers excellent formability, clean surface quality, good corrosion resistance, and stable structural performance.

For awning products, this matters because the aluminum profiles are not only structural parts. They are also visible components, such as the cassette housing, front bar, arms, and support profiles. These parts need to look clean, fit accurately, and perform reliably in outdoor conditions.

  • T5 temper means the aluminum profile is cooled from an elevated-temperature shaping process and then artificially aged. This improves mechanical strength while maintaining good dimensional stability and extrusion quality.

For awning profiles, T5 provides a practical balance between strength, shape stability, surface quality, and production consistency.

Alloy Advantages Limitations Suitability for AWNINGS
6063-T5 Excellent extrusion quality, clean surface finish, good corrosion resistance, lightweight, stable for visible profiles Not the highest-strength aluminum alloy Best-balanced choice for cassette housings, front bars, arms, and visible awning profiles
6005 / 6005A Higher structural strength than 6063, good for load-bearing profiles Surface finish and fine extrusion detail are usually not as refined as 6063 Suitable for heavier structural parts, but not always ideal for refined visible awning profiles
6061-T6 High strength, widely used in mechanical structures Harder to extrude into complex thin-wall profiles; surface finish may be less ideal for decorative visible parts Good for structural engineering parts, but less balanced for awning cassette and visible profiles
6082 Strong structural alloy, good mechanical performance More engineering-oriented, less ideal for fine decorative extrusion and appearance-focused parts Better for heavy-duty structures than refined awning housings
6003 / 6065 / Other 6xxx Alloys Can be used for specific applications depending on design and temper Less commonly selected for refined awning extrusion profiles; performance depends heavily on processing and application Not necessary unless there is a special structural or design requirement
Performance Area Test Result What It Means
Aluminum Grade 6063-T5 Balanced for lightweight, durable, and precision-extruded awning profiles
Tensile Strength 191 / 198 N/mm² Supports stable cassette, front bar, arm, and profile structure
Yield Strength 164 / 171 N/mm² Helps the profile resist deformation during daily use
Elongation 11.5% / 11.5% Indicates good toughness and material stability
Powder Coating Thickness 106–124 μm Provides a thicker and more protective outdoor surface
Surface Appearance Smooth & Uniform Creates a clean, premium look for visible exterior parts
Gloss Consistency +3.8 / +3.5 Helps maintain consistent surface finish
Colour Difference ΔEab 0.1 / 0.1 Indicates strong colour consistency between profiles
Salt Spray Resistance 500h, No Visible Coating Change Supports long-term outdoor corrosion resistance
RoHS Compliance Compliant Powder coating meets RoHS chemical safety requirements

For awning applications, the strongest alloy is not always the best choice. A good awning profile needs to be strong enough, light enough, accurately extruded, visually clean, corrosion-resistant, and stable during long-term outdoor use.

That is why we choose 6063-T5 aluminum profiles. It provides the most suitable balance for awning cassette housings, front bars, arms, and support profiles, especially where both structural performance and appearance matter.

RV Awning fabric needs a balance of weather resistance, water protection, dimensional stability, tear strength, easy maintenance, and long-term outdoor durability. PVC fabric is not selected only for its waterproof performance, but because it is one of the most practical materials for awnings exposed.

  • Awning fabric is exposed directly to sunlight, rain, moisture, dirt, wind, and repeated opening and closing. For vehicle awnings, the fabric must do more than look good — it needs water resistance, dimensional stability, tear resistance, easy cleaning, surface durability, and long-term outdoor performance.

At the same time, motorhome and caravan awnings also require a lightweight fabric solution. The fabric needs to be durable enough for travel and outdoor exposure, but not so heavy that it adds unnecessary load to the roller, arms, and vehicle-mounted structure.

PVC fabric is a practical choice for motorhome and caravan awnings because it provides a strong balance of water protection, easy maintenance, surface durability, lightweight usability, and stable performance in changing outdoor conditions.

It is especially suitable for travel use, where the awning may face rain, dust, road dirt, moisture, repeated rolling, and frequent operation.

Fabric Type Best For Key Reason Our View
PVC Fabric Motorhome & Caravan Awnings Lightweight, durable, water-resistant, easy to clean, suitable for repeated rolling Best choice for vehicle awnings
Acrylic Fabric Garden Awnings Rich colours, soft textile texture, better match with home exterior design Ideal for premium residential shading
Polyester Fabric Garden Awnings Flexible, cost-effective, available in different colours and finishes Practical choice for garden awnings, but colour fastness needs attention
Oxford Fabric Covers, bags, light outdoor use Lightweight and low cost Not preferred for long-term exposed awnings
Canvas Traditional outdoor textile products Natural textile look Higher moisture absorption and maintenance requirement
  • Fabric Weight Advantages Limitations Suitability for Awning
350–420gsm Lighter, lower cost, easier to roll Lower tear resistance and durability; less stable for long-term outdoor exposure Suitable for light-duty or cost-sensitive applications
480gsm Stronger durability, better stability, good water resistance, practical for daily outdoor use Slightly heavier than entry-level fabrics Best-balanced choice for long-term awning use
550gsm+ Heavy-duty feel, stronger surface body Heavier, may increase stress on arms, roller, and operation system More suitable for special heavy-duty uses, not always necessary for standard awnings
Performance Area Test Result What It Means
Fabric Weight 480gsm Heavy-duty fabric for stronger outdoor durability
Fabric Structure PVC Mesh Fabric Reinforced structure helps improve strength and stability

There is no single fabric that is best for every awning. The right fabric depends on the application.

For motorhome and caravan awnings, we choose PVC fabric because it balances lightweight durability, water resistance, stain resistance, easy cleaning, and repeated rolling performance.

For garden awnings, acrylic and polyester fabrics are better suited when colour variety, textile texture, shading comfort, and home exterior design are more important.
